About This Workshop

This REHS facilitated workshops consists of 2 hours pre-reading and is supported by 3 hours of face to face facilitated instruction with one of our clinical instructors. Wound management and suturing is an ideal workshop for personnel seeking to practice current skillsets or upskill in wound closure techniques.

This is a Level 3 learning workshop and is suitable for:

  • Registered Ahpra Practitioners in a clinical setting

Workshop Content

  • Ethical and Legal considerations

  • Skin Assessment including anatomy and physiology of the skin

  • Wound Assessment

  • Local Anaesthetics

  • Skin Closure Techniques including Steri-strips, Tissue Adhesive, Staples, and Suturing

  • Wound Care and Dressing application

Suitable for

This is a Level 3 learning workshop and is suitable for Registered Ahpra Practitioners in a clinical setting

Pre-requisites

Registered practitioners with recent experience in a clinical setting.

Inclusions

  • Access to pre-reading content prior to workshop commencement

  • 2 hours pre-reading, 3 hours face to face facilitated instruction

  • Small group teaching (Max 6)

  • Per person enrolment fee is applicable, available on request

Assessment

Successful completion of practical component to verify competence

Certificate & Reporting

Participants will be issued a Statement of Attendance upon the successful completion of this workshop
