About This Workshop

This REHS facilitated workshop consists of 3 hours face to face instruction with our Mental Health trained facilitator. The workshop is designed to create a safe space to engage participants whilst sharing knowledge and awareness within the small group.

This is a Level 1-2 learning workshop and is suitable for Certificate IV In Health Care Emergency Service Offices, Paramedics, and Nurses.

Workshop Content

Trauma Assessment and treatment of:

  • Mental Health definitions & statistics

  • Stigma & discrimination

  • Self-harm & suicide ideation

  • Practical scenarios

  • Legal obligations

  • Major disorders

  • REHS action plan

  • Debriefing techniques

This is a Level 1-2 learning workshop and is suitable for Certificate IV In Health Care Emergency Service Offices, Paramedics, and Nurses.

Pre-requisites

Recent employment / exposure within a clinical environment

Inclusions

  • 3 hours face to face facilitated instruction with mental health trained facilitator

  • Practical scenarios

  • Small group teaching (Max 10)

  • Per person enrolment fee is applicable, available on request

Assessment

Successful completion of practical component to verify competence

Certificate & Reporting

Participants will be issued a Statement of Attendance upon the successful completion of this workshop

CPD

Successful completion of this workshop entitles participants to:

  • Paramedics – 3 CPD points
  • Nurses – 3 CPD points
