About This Workshop

This REHS facilitated workshop consists of 3 hours of face to face content, addressing pathophysiology, assessment, and treatment of trauma injuries. The workshop is applicable for industry-specific mining operations and has been developed for remote area pre-hospital care.

This is a Level 2-3 workshop and is suitable for Certificate IV in Health Care Emergency Service Officers, Paramedics, and Nurses or Registered Aphra Practitioners recent experience in a clinical setting

Workshop Content

Trauma Assessment and treatment of:

  • Shock in trauma

  • Spinal injury

  • Chest and abdominal

  • Traumatic brain injury

  • Pelvic and long bone fractures

  • Crush and suspension

Suitable for

This is a Level 2-3 workshop and is suitable for Certificate IV in Health Care Emergency Service Officers, Paramedics, and Nurses or Registered Aphra Practitioners recent experience in a clinical setting

Pre-requisites

Recent employment / exposure in a clinical environment

Inclusions

  • 4 hours face to face facilitated instruction clinical trainer

  • Practical scenarios

  • Small group teaching (Max 6)

  • Per person enrolment fee is applicable, available on request

Assessment

Successful completion of practical component to verify competence

Certificate & Reporting

Participants will be issued a Statement of Attendance upon the successful completion of this workshop.

CPD

Successful completion of this workshop entitles participants to:

  • Level 2 – 4 CPD points
