About This Course

Emergency and Response Training in Health E.A.R.T.H. Refresher Training aims to enhance the student’s knowledge and skills to enable them to carry out First Aid to casualties, encompassing a variety of conditions and/or injures. To offer a practical hands-on approach to First Aid and improve patient outcomes.

Attendees

The course is designed to refresh the skills and knowledge of the Emergency And Response Training in Health course. The course is targeted at Emergency Response team members.

Workshop Content

  • Follow the Five Point Plan

  • DRABCDE strategy

  • Vital sign survey

  • Secondary survey

  • CNS survey

  • Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

  • First aid procedures for the treatment of medical conditions

  • First aid procedures for the treatment of injuries

  • Movement of the sick or injured

  • Oxygen saturation levels (SPO2)

  • Blood sugar levels (BSL)

  • Pain management

  • Prepare resuscitation equipment

  • Use of the bag valve mask equipment

  • Set up of an oxygen delivery system

  • Administer oxygen

  • Operate suction equipment

  • Maintenance and rectifying minor faults of equipment

Pre-requisites

Minimum qualification of Provide First Aid with an Advanced Resuscitation qualification is required for this course

Assessment

Students will be required to complete practical assessments

Certification

Students will receive – Certificate of Attendance for the E.A.R.T.H. 1 day refresher course

CPD

Successful completion of this refresher training workshop entitles participants to:

  • 8 hours = 8 CPD points
  • 12 hours = 12 CPD points
